The Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) and the governorates' Environment Committee launched Saturday an awareness campaign for campers aimed at highlighting importance of preserving environment in Kuwait. The campaign, sponsored by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah, began with placing of a plant then visiting a number of camps to urge them preserve environment. Jassem Yaqoub, PAYS deputy director general, said in a statement PAYS was fully supporting all efforts to preserving land and sea environments. He urged all campers to keep the desert clean. Chairman of the Environment Committee Hamed Al-Ibrahim said the campaign aimed at boosting awareness among public to have a clean environment, like dangerous impacts of dumping oil on soil or building concrete walls in or outside the camp. The campaign, added Al-Ibrahim, also specified how to collect and put garbage in trash containers and not to burn them, as well as plantation.
