The Environmental Voluntary Foundation will launch its second campaign for cleaning Kuwait's shores mid-October with the participation of educational and public organizations, as well as government bodies.
The campaign aims to bring environmental awareness to all society members, and provide people with knowledge about the hazards posed by waste left on beaches, Head of the campaign Nora Al-Sanousi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday.
The volunteers will be transported to different locations by a specialized vehicle, covered with drawings to attract children into participating, she said, noting that the event will also encourage students to be involved in voluntary works.
The campaign, set to kick off next Tuesday, will last for four months, said Al-Sanousi, adding that the Ministry of Education, Kuwait Municipality, Touristic Enterprises Company, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Souq Sharq members and other institutes will all take part in the event.
