
An earthquake measuring 5.6 Richter scale rocked eastern parts of Indonesia on Sunday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The quake jolted at 11:37 a.m. Jakarta time (04:37 GMT) with epicenter at 84 km southwest Pulau Morotai of North Maluku and with the depth at 84 km under sea bed, an official of the agency told Xinhua by phone.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake- hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
