
Over 100,000 volunteers across the country joined "Let's clean Albania" initiative on Friday. It is the first time that Albania has joined this global campaign "Let's Do It World", a candidate for the 2013 "UN Prize" in the field of human rights and promotion of a clean environment worldwide. A total of 107 states favored such an initiative and up to now 139 clean-up actions were organized. In the capial Tirana, besides students, also engaged in the campaign, which officially started at Rinia Park (Youth Park), were numerous citizens of various ages. They cleaned up polluted but not hazardous places. Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his full support for this initiative by joining the team of volunteers, who engaged in a cleanup activity in local government unit. "As citizens and servants of the country, we welcome this civic initiative which we hope will become a daily work," Rama thanked those who got involved in this activity that swept the entire country, appealed for this mission to become a tradition.
