
Paraguay offered 100 seedlings of Lapacho trees as a gift to Cairo City Hall as part of efforts to boost friendly relations between the two sides.
In a meeting with Cairo Governor Galal Moustafa Saeed, the Paraguayan ambassador here said the fast-growing Lapacho is the national tree of his country and is very colorful.
The seedlings will be planted in the Cairo district of Maadi.
He hoped that cooperation with Egypt would be promoted more in the future.
He stressed that Egypt's return to play its pioneering role in the Arab and Middle East region would create an international balance.
He expressed appreciation for Egypt's role in stopping Gaza bloodshed.
