Egypt's Prime Minister Hisham Qandil meet on Thursday with State Minister for Environmental Affairs Khaled Fahmi, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Osama Kamal along with Minister of Utilities, Sewage and waste Abdel-Kawi Khalifa to discuss proposed amendments to the environmental law. The law includes several procedures to preserve the marine environment as well as evaluating effects of pollutants on environment and emissions criteria, cabinet spokesperson Alaa al-Hadidi said. The law aims to preserve the environment according to secure and required standards as well as promoting investment and industrial renaissance.
