
Firefighters extinguished a forest fire in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Monday afternoon, according to local forest fire prevention headquarters. Firefighters were clearing the site to avoid the resurgence of the blaze, which started at about 4:40 p.m. on Saturday near Qingshan Village of Lufeng County, said the Kunming Forest Fire Prevention Headquarters. A total of 2,320 people have been mobilized to put out the fire, which was initially estimated to have affected an area of about 95 hectares. No casualties have been reported so far. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
