A strong earthquake hit the north coast of Canada's British Columbia province Friday, and there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the magnitude-6.1 earthquake was centered about 165 kilometers southeast of the village of Queen Charlotte and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The National Tsunami Warning Center said a Pacific Ocean tsunami is not expected as a result of the earthquake.
