At least 68 roads to various villages were closed to motor vehicle traffic in the eastern province of Agri due to heavy snowfall. Tough winter conditions in eastern Anatolia continue. 16 village roads in Erzurum province and 6 village roads in Kars province were shut down to traffic due to heavy snowfall. Meanwhile, Ardahan was the province with the coldest temperature on Friday night with minus 15 degrees Celsius. Snow thickness in Agri reached 50 centimeters, in Erzurum 30 centimeters and in Kars 12 centimeters. Turkey's eastern Anatolia region has some of Europe's best skiing resorts. All hotels were fully booked at the skiing centers during the week.
