Tropical depression forms off Cape Verde
A new tropical depression

Tropical Depression 6 has formed west of the Cape Verde Islands, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in its latest forecast Thursday.
The depression was located roughly 1,400 kilometers west of the Cape Verde Islands with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour, the hurricane center said.
The depression could strengthen into a tropical storm by late Thursday, according to the forecast.
