Turkish Deputy Premier Ali Babacan and Swedish Transportation & Infrastructure Minister Catharina Elmsater-Svard signed a memorandum of understanding for the two countries' cooperation in environment technologies. Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf also attended the signing ceremony. Babacan said that Turkey and Sweden had common policies regarding solution of global problems, and he thanked Sweden's strong and sincere support to Turkey's membership to the EU. Babacan said that if they worked together, Turkey and Sweden would boost their competition advantage in Central Asia, Middle East, Balkans and North Africa. Meanwhile, Swedish minister said that Turkey could use experiences of Sweden regarding environment technologies.
