
The water level in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia’s Far East, went down 20 centimetres over the past day and reached 731 centimetres at 08:00 local time (01:00 Moscow time) on Sunday, the local division of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Khabarovsk Territory said. “The flood situation in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur is stabilizing,” the local emergency situation department said. “However, 1,268 residential houses remain flooded. The number of flooded houses is growing because the water is flooding the residential districts through private water wells and sewage systems. Meanwhile, 524 countryside houses, 1,193 land plots and four socially important facilities were flooded,” the local emergencies department said. Sixteen transformer substations are disconnected, so, 13 apartment blocks and 493 private houses remain without power supplies in the city. The water level in the city of Khabarovsk, Russia’s Far East, went down to 454 centimetres (nine centimetres down per day) and decreased to 260 centimetres in the city of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur (two centimetres down).
