
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Water and Environment Mofeed Abdo Al-Halmi has been chosen as member of jury for Prize of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment for 2014-2017. Choosing Yemen’s candidate to the membership of the jury along with candidates of four other Arab countries, which are Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and Jordan, came during the 25th session of the Council held recently at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. The Council called on the Arab countries that have not yet provded the technical-secretariat of the Council with their proposals on the amendment to the regulations and conditions of the prize to quickly provide their proposals in order to be discussed in the coming session. The Council announced ,at the same time, that the topic of Prize for this 2014 is "Towards a green technology to achieve a sustainable development in the air pollution control field”, noting that the award will be announced soon in the media after receiving the prize conditions from the United Arab Emirates, which has been tasked by the council to prepare the conditions, as a prelude to declare it.
