Hollande tells Obama of 'deep disapproval' of US spying

French President Francois Hollande told US President Barack Obama of his "deep disapproval" of US eavesdropping on millions of French phone calls on Monday, Hollande's office said in a statement. Hollande said US spying practices "are unacceptable between friends and allies because they infringe on the privacy of French citizens," the statement said, adding that Hollande had demanded "explanations" from Obama.
