Hurricane Manuel made lanfall in northwestern Mexico on Thursday, hitting the country with a third major storm in less than a week, forecasters said. Manuel made landfall west of the city of Culiacan in Sinaloa state, packing winds of 75 miles (120 kilometers) per hour and bringing the threat of flash floods and mudslides, US and Mexican weather services said.
