Luxor Governor Tareq Saad Eddin said he received a message from the Japanese ambassador in Cairo notifying him of a decision by his government easing a travel alert on Egypt. Earlier, Japan decided to ease its travel warning on Egypt and allow its citizens to travel to Cairo, Luxor and Abu-Simbel after the security situation improved in the country. Saad Eddin said he met a high-level Japanese delegation early this month which inspected the situation in Luxor and visited several tourist sites to draw up a full vision about the city's security and convey it to the Japanese government, he said.
