Japan summons Chinese ambassador over air defence zone

Japan on Monday summoned the Chinese ambassador to Tokyo to protest at Beijing's unilateral declaration of an air defence identification zone, which the prime minister called "dangerous". Deputy foreign minister Akitaka Saiki called in Cheng Yonghua for a dressing-down after China declared that aircraft flying over a large area of the East China Sea must obey its instructions, reports said.
