Landslide kills 12 amid storm in Mexico

A landslide killed at least 12 people in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz on Monday as two storms battered the country, a state official said. "At the moment we have 12 people dead and between seven and eight injured" in the town of Altotonga, said a state civil protection spokesman after federal officials report 22 other deaths elsewhere related to the storms named Ingrid and Manuel.
