Ukraine's Yanukovych calls for peace after protests

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Monday called for peace after his government's decision to scrap a major deal with the EU led to major protests across the country. "I want peace and calm in our big Ukrainian family," Yanukovych said in a video statement posted on his official website, after police fired tear gas at pro-Europe demonstrators.
