Witnesses: Blast rocks north Nigerian city of Kano

A suspected car bomb ripped through a crowded entertainment spot in the north Nigerian city of Kano on Sunday, witnesses said. The blast on a busy road lined with bars in the predominantly Christian area of Sabon Giri, could be heard several kilometres (miles) away, locals said. Nigeria's Channels television said 10 people had been killed but there was no official confirmation from police in the city.
