Minister of State for Electricity and Water Dr. Abdul Hussein bin Ai Mirza said that two new 11/66 KVA power plants will be launched by the Ministry in the Northern City in September.
The two plants have a capacity to produce 96 megawatts which have been constructed in consideration of a total sum of BD 9 million.
Dr. Mirza told Akhbar Al-Khaleej that both stations will be fed from the Northern City's main station (BSP) that entered service last February.
This station which currently supplies the power needs of housing projects was designed in order to accommodate the demand of future projects in the city, the Minister added.
The station is fed via two 22KVA power lines from Jasra Station. The total cost of the main station is an approximate BD 12 million. The latest state-of-the-art project has been implemented by a consortium of local and international companies, he said.
