
A budget of DZD1.6 billion was allocated by the State for the rehabilitation of 11 buildings in Sidi El Houari old district, six public squares, and pedestrian crossings in the same neighborhood, the Wali of Oran said Thursday during the Tribune paper's forum for citizens.
He said that the "long awaited" decree, involving the Ministries of Interior and Local Government and Culture for the classification of the neighborhood as protected urban sector is not yet signed.
"We are in the phase of choosing the company of renovation. The funds are available. The specifications were withdrawn and calls for tenders launched, " he added.
