Israel allowed Sunday the entry of 189 trucks loaded with a variety of goods into the Gaza Strip through Karm Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) commercial border crossing east of Rafah city. Raed Fattouh, the head of the coordination committee overseeing the entry of goods into the Palestinian enclave, told a news conference that the crossing was opened in the morning to allow for the passage of truckloads of goods, including 20 trucks carrying construction material. Also, Israel allowed the pumping of limited quantities of cooking gas into the Gaza Strip, he said. Karm abu Salem is the only commercial crossing currently open in the Gaza Strip and through which goods, fuel and aid are allowed to enter the seaside Palestinian enclave.
