About two tonnes of medicine and medical equipment have been collected in Oran (432-km west of Algiers) in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, the head of the local committee of the Algerian Red Crescent said Sunday.
"Pharmacists in the province of Oran unanimously contributed to the action," Larbi Benmoussa told APS.
In addition to drugs, "wheelchairs and other equipment meant for people with special needs have been collected, as part of the humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza."
Algerian Red Crescent's partnership with the General Union of Algerian Merchants and Craftsmen (UGCAA) allowed the collecting of many sets of blankets and non-perishable foodstuff.
