Up to 40 tons of rice, sugar and oil have been seized before being sold on black market in Cairo.
The seizure came as supply police of the Interior Ministry launched campaigns that aim at controlling markets and preventing the smuggling of the strategic commodities to the black market as well as commercial fraud.
After raiding many warehouses, 83 supply cases have been reported.
Up to 7 tons of rice, 2 tons of sugar, 29 tons of flour, 8 tons of starch, 2 tons of oil and 250 kilograms of meat have been seized during the security campaign.
All legal measures were taken and the public prosecution was informed to launch investigations. More crackdowns on violators will continue to monitor markets.
