
Five oil firm workers, who were lost Wednesday between In-Salah and Reggan, were found safe and sound on Thursday evening by a detachment of the combined forces of the People's National Army, the National Gendarmerie and the Algerian Customs of the operational area of Adrar (3rd Military Region), said Saturday the Ministry of National Defence in a communiqué.
"During the search and rescue operation, a detachment of the combined forces of the People's National Army, the National Gendarmerie and the Algerian Customs of the operational area of Adrar (3rd Military Region) managed, in the night of 13 November 2014, to rescue five (05) workers of the firm HALLIBURTON operating for the national hydrocarbon company SONATRACH, 25 km southeast of Reggan (Adrar), who were lost as they were moving from their working place in In-Salah on 12 November 2014 to Reggan," said the communiqué.
“The operation carried out in record time allowed to find the employees safe and sound,” added the source.
Furthermore, “as part of securing borders and fighting against smuggling, the elements of the National Gendarmerie coming under the operational sector of Tamanrasset (6th Military Region) seized Friday 14 November 2014 in a patrol, a quantity of fuel in two (02) all-terrain vehicles and a car and arrested six (06) people, including one (01) from Libya,” said the source.
