
Fifty craftsmen from various provinces are taking part in the 2nd Regional Craft Industry Show, held under the theme "Cottage Industry: History and Future," and which opened Tuesday in El Tarf (600-km east of Algiers) and will run until August 16.
Organized by the Chamber of Craft Industry and Trades, in collaboration with the province's Department of Tourism, the event has drawn a large number of visitors eager to discover the wide range of the displayed traditional products.
The show is meant to contribute in to the promotion of the local, regional and national heritage.
The displayed items include bride's trousseau, pottery, tapestry, brass work, sculpture, wood processing and jewellery, especially silver jewels, according to organizers.
