Six Arab funds are keen to provide assistance to fulfill the basic needs of North Sinai residents to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development, International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr said.
The ministry formed a working team to get acquainted with the priorities and basic needs of the residents, especially youths and female breadwinners, the minister said during a visit of the industrial zone in Beir Al Abd in North Sinai on Sunday.
There are exchanged visits with a number of Arab countries to finance developmental projects in the governorate’s villages and municipalities, she said.
Egypt and development partners, namely Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE, have exchanged visits for carrying out investment projects over five years in Egypt and in Sinai particularly, she added.
Meanwhile, North Sinai Abdel Fattah Harhour said the governorate is qualified for development in the different sectors with the available vast areas of farmlands, tourist and archaeological sites and the extending beach.
The governor said 24 developmental complexes are being built in collaboration with the Armed Forces to include agricultural, industrial and urban projects.
The infrastructure of the industrial zone in Beir Al Abd, built on one million square meters, is being upgraded.
