A convoy of five semi-trailer trucks transporting 60 tons of donations for the battered population of Gaza left Tuesday evening Oran to Algiers.
This humanitarian aid, collected at the initiative of the Algerian Muslim Scouts (SMA) in collaboration with the International Federation of the Red Crescent and the Red Cross, is a sign of solidarity of the population of Oran with their Palestinian brothers, underlined Oran’s SMA Provincial Commissioner Bouabdellah Benmessaoud, recalling that the operation was launched on August 2nd.
The collected goods, including 15 tons of medicines, food, clothing and other school kits will be handed to the SMA General command, which will be in charge of sending them to the Gaza strip, he added.
The departure ceremony of the solidarity caravan with the Palestinian people, who continue to face the Israeli aggressions, took place in the presence of local elected officials, executives of the Directorate of Youth and Sports, a representative of religious affairs, artists and members of the civil society.
