Chairman of the Arab Gulf Program for the United Nations Developmental Organizations Program (AGFUND) Prince Talal Bin Abdel Aziz declared on Thursday donating USD 150,000 for the relief of Yazidis that are suffering from human tragedy in northern Iraq.
The tragedy of the Yazidis in Iraq under the pretext of applying Islam is against Islamic rules and contrary to the respect for human freedom and against humanity, Prince Talal said in a statement.
Since last week, about 1,000 Yazidis have been killed and a similar number of women have been kidnapped. Many have been stranded in remote, rugged locations, deprived of necessities.
Militants have expanded control in Iraq, harassing minorities and forcing many to relocate or take up refuge in neighboring countries.
