Minister of Agriculture Salah Hilal said that the ministry supports meat boycott campaigns to combat the hike in meat prices via offering meat at the ministry’s outlets at EGP 55 per one kilogram.
This came during the tour by Hilal and South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda of El Tur where they visited agricultural projects.
Hilal said that the subterranean water in El Tur will be used for irrigation in South Sinai to achieve self-sufficiency of agricultural crops and sell them to hotels and resorts instead of buying them from Obour wholesale marketplace in Cairo.
Hilal said that five tons of poultry will be sent to the governorate.
Hilal said that the efficiency of 25,000 feddans will be increased, adding that the work will start in 10,000 feddans during the first stage.
On the other hand, Fouda said that developing the fishing port in El Tur will cost EGP 45 million
