Transport Minister Jabara Al-Seraisry on Sunday signed 32 contracts worth more than SR2 billion for the construction of new roads and repairing of existing ones in different parts of the country. “Allocations for the new road projects have been made in the current fiscal budget,” he said, adding that the contracts also included consultancy services for building new road projects. “The Transport Ministry is committed to implementing all road projects within the specific time, following international standards,” Al-Seraisry said, adding that it would take action against contractors that violate the terms. Al-Seraisry had signed contracts worth more than SR8 billion in the past months, bringing the total value of road contracts sanctioned this year to more than SR10 billion. Source: Arab News
