Minister for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel said Saturday in Doha that fifteen documents (agreements, a memorandum of understanding and an action programme) will be submitted to the Algerian-Qatari High Joint Committee for signing.
In a statement to the press, a day before the beginning of the committee’s works, Messahel said that “15 agreements, a memorandum of understanding and an action programme will be signed during this session which is, he said, a “major stage in the process of strengthening the distinguished relations between the two countries.”
The Algerian-Qatari partnership focuses on “several key fields, including industry, agriculture, culture, education and tourism,” said the minister, underlining in this regard the project to build Bellara steel complex (Jijel).
The session will be an opportunity to “assess the achievements and open new bilateral cooperation prospects,” particularly owing to the great investment opportunities offered by Algeria, said Messahel.
The minister hailed the “distinguished relations” between President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, as well as the relations between Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and his Qatari counterpart and ministers and governments of the two countries.
