Algeria's annual inflation rate stabilized at 1.5% in July, the same rate as in June, according to the National Office of Statistics (ONS).
The prices of foodstuffs dropped by 0.8% compared to the previous month, which recorded a 3.6 percent increase.
"This trend results from the 1.9 percent decrease in the fresh agricultural products," explained the ONS.
The average food prices went up by 3.9% in July 2014 compared to July 2013, while the prices of fresh farm agricultural products increased by 5.1%, and those of manufactured food products rose by 2.7%, the source said.
The prices of non-food manufactured goods and services showed a 0.3% increase in July compared to June 2014, and 1.9% increase in July 2014 compared to July 2013, the source added.
