Aqaba customs foils attempt to smuggle fireworks

The Aqaba Customs on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle fireworks hidden inside a container, ostensibly carrying wooden tables and marble pieces, according to a customs statement.
Upon inspection of the container, the custom officers found 897 cartons full of various types of fireworks concealed therein.
The customs department said that it seized the container, and referred the case to the customs prosecutor general to complete the necessary action against the smugglers, according to the Jordanian customs law and instructions.
