Arab housing ministers meet in Cairo

The 79th Session of the Arab Housing and Reconstruction Ministers' executive office began today at the Arab League (AL) general secretariat under the chairmanship of Saudi Housing Minister Dr Essam bin Saeed.
Abdullah Mohammad Ajaj Al Kubaisi, Social Affairs Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Affairs, led Qatar's delegation to the meeting.
Speaking at the event, Dr Essam bin Saeed said that the discussions would focus on an Arab draft strategy for housing and sustainable rural development, which was prepared by the Arab experts with the participation of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
Prior to the meeting, he told reporters that the strategy provides a framework for joint Arab action in the area of housing, sustainable urban development.
