
Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa attended the 69th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Financial and Economic Committee.
He took part in the joint meeting of the GCC monetary agencies and centrals banks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The minister participated in the inauguration of the IMF Centre, on the sidelines of the two meetings which were held in Kuwait on Friday and Saturday (October24-25).
The ministers discussed developments of the GCC Customs and Monetary Unions as well as the constituent law of the GCC Economic Judicial Authority which would speed up the settlement of business disputes, bolster economic and investment cooperation and promote Arabian Gulf economic citizenship.
The delegations scrutinized the law on protecting consumers as well as the unified regulations which would give priority to national products in Government-funded purchases.
