
Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan received on Thursday the Bahrain Contractors Society (BCS)'s Board of Directors' Chairman Ali Marhoun, accompanied with board members.
The meeting discussed latest preparations ahead of the Society's second annual general assembly meeting which will be convened under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in December.
The Minister praised the vital key role of the contracting sector in supporting the Kingdom's overall development process, praising the Society's consolidation of firm and clear foundations which regulate work and upgrading recruitment and training in the sector as well as policies and steps aimed at labour market reformation and regulation.
The two sides explored aspects of cooperation between the Ministry and the Society in the area of employment and training in order to boost this vital sector and uplift the standard of its operational establishments, primarily small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting also discussed the problems facing the sector and their remedy in order to support and boost the national economy.
The Society's Chairman thanked the Minister's support and assistance to the Society's activities and events, especially the first conference organised by the Society which accomplished a resounding success at the level of contracting sector, aspiring for continuity of such support which constitutes an important stimulus and supports the sector which employs a large number of Bahraini workforce. The members of the BCS's Board of Directors invited the Minister to attend the and effectively participate in the BCS's upcoming conference.
