Bahraini ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shaikh Humood bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed strong ties binding the two brotherly countries, describing them as strategic. Speaking in a statement to Bahrain News Agency, marking the Saudi National Day on September 23, 2012, he lauded the leaderships’ keen interest to further solidify bilateral links. He also extended heartfelt congratulations on the Saudi National Day to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Adullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, wishing them continuous good health and happiness and more progress and prosperity to the Saudi people. He hailed Saudi Arabia's comprehensive achievements, commending the Saudi monarch’ wise leadership and statesmanship which brought about success at the regional, Arab and international levels. He also praised Saudi Arabia’s support to Bahrain in various fields, voicing Bahrain’s respect and appreciation of the brotherly, noble and honorable stances aimed at boosting both countries’ welfare and protecting the security and stability of the GCC countries.
