
Finance Minister Hani Qadri said on Saturday that the government would announce new drafts for the value-added tax and customs laws very soon.
Speaking to reporters, the minister said the new amendments of laws would clear tax system from wraps.
A special table would be developed for services exempted from taxes, the minister said, adding, most of services would be subject of taxation.
The proposed laws would not lead to price hikes, the minister made it clear, noting "it is expected to provide customers with the option to divide payment of taxes on terms of time".
Also, the minister asserted that the new amendments target preservation of national industries.
