
Transportation Minister Saad Gioushi and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr witnessed on Thursday the signing ceremony of the second batch of funding the implementation of the third phase of the third line of metro.
The second batch is of 200 million euro value of the total 600-million-euro fund offered by the European Investment Bank.
The French Development Agency also funds the project with 300 million euros while the European Union contributes 44 million euros to the project.
The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) chairman General Tarek Gamal El-Din and the European Investment Bank Head of Cairo Office Christophe Lucet signed the agreement.
The 17.7 km third phase includes the establishment of 15 metro stations in Greater Cairo.
