Customs Department denies truck congestion at Safaga port

A Customs Department official denied Tuesday reports about a truck congestion at Safaga port.
The source said customs clearance procedures for all incoming and outgoing cargo shipments have been completed.
Some truck owners refused to undergo the customs department's inspection, in protest at the law and customs procedures correct applying on personal baggage shipments, he said.
Security measures have been stepped up at the Red Sea ports because some offices exploited the chaos in the previous period to smuggle prohibited materials inside expatriates' luggage, he added.
