
Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbas held meetings on Friday with a number of ambassadors and partners of the United Nations, to discuss Lebanon's participation in Kuwait's III Conference due to take place on March 31, 2015.
Speaking during the meeting, Minister Derbas stressed the importance of support to Lebanon by the donor countries during the Kuwait's III Conference, notably in terms of reinforcing Lebanon's resilience and meeting stringent needs.
The Conference aims at providing grants to Syria and neighboring countries, with its main objective mobilizing resources to address the humanitarian needs inside Syria and affected communities in the neighboring countries, as per a statement.
The Emir of Kuwait is hosting the Conference, which will be attended by the Secretary General of the United Nations and representatives of the member States, humanitarian organizations and non-governmental organizations.
