The Prophet's Mosque in Madinah occupies a great status in the hearts of all Muslims as whoever comes to this country to perform Hajj and Umrah pays a visit to it to pray inside the Mosque of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two companions (May Allah be pleased with them).
The city of the Prophet - peace be upon him - was chosen in 2013 by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) as the Capital of Islamic Culture.
It also witnessed late last Islamic lunar year the largest expansion in the history of the Prophet's Mosque when the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, laid the foundation stone of the expansion for increasing its capacity up to two million worshipers and visitors at the end of the project.
