
The economic and social conference on youth, scheduled on 24-25 November, will serve as a “forum” for the exchange of views and reflection to address the concerns of this category, said Sunday in Algiers Youth Minister Abdelkader Khomri.
In a conference organized on this subject, the minister said that his sector will work to ensure that this meeting, to which will participate about 350 representatives of associations from different provinces, be “objective and professional,” underlining that Algeria “is the vanguard of countries having invested in the human resources particularly in the fields of education and training.”
“It is time to plan for the post-oil,” said the minister, stressing the important role of agriculture in “the creation of wealth and jobs.”
In this regard, He said that the creation of “agricultural centres” will be one of the issues to be discussed in this conference, adding that the development of agriculture will be accompanied by the development of the agribusiness which will considerably boost the country’s economy.
Khomri also emphasized the necessity to assess the different mechanisms of creating small and medium companies (SMEs), particularly the National Employment Support Agency (ANSEJ) to redress the shortcomings.
