
The Ministry of Awqaf saved EGP 400 million in its budget of the fiscal year 2014/2015, a report submitted to Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab read Thursday.
The prime minister received the report from Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa as part of Mahlab's efforts to follow up rationalizing procedures in all government bodies with the aim of facing shortage of budget.
The report also outlined the Awqaf Ministry's plan to cut expenses through a number of effective steps, adding the self-developed resources are estimated at EGP 50 million.
According to the report, about EGP six million were saved only with regard to annual Haj expenses.
