The Irrigation Ministry is working around the clock to implement the one-million-feddan project.
A number of rules should be taken into consideration when selecting areas that should be reclaimed as part of the project, said Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi Tuesday.
Moghazi said the project would help the Housing Ministry to quickly establish urban communities and extend infrastructure services.
He made it clear that his Ministry is almost settled about areas that will be reclaimed as part of the one-million-feddan project. He cited el Farafra el Gedida, Dala, el Farafra el Qadima and western Minya, noting those will be included in phase one of the project.
Other areas in Sharq el Auwainat, Toshka and western Kom Ombo are still being studied, Moghazi added.
