
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab directed Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy to work on introducing price controls on food commodities especially vegetables and poultry after some commodities price hike during the last few days.
In a press release, the premier asserted that price control and confronting merchants' greed is the responsibility of supply minister.
He added that he assigned supply minister to deal with such phenomenon and to follow it up, adding that those responsible will be held accountable if such phenomenon did not end soon.
He also underlined the importance of continuing efforts to develop cooperatives, stressing that he will not allow subsidized commodities to reach those who do not deserve it.
