
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab discussed with ministers of health, finance, planning on Monday ways of boosting production of the Holding Company for Biological Products & Vaccines (VACSERA) which stumbled in the last 10 years.
Health Minister Adel Adawi assured Mahlab that efforts were under way to solve all the problems facing the company, adding that a financial restructuring plan had been tabled to develop the company as soon as possible.
He pointed out that the plan included paying the company's debt pile and construction of new production lines in cooperation with international companies.
VACSERA is the only producer of vaccines and serums in Egypt and is one of the main blood banks.
