Prime Minister Sherif Ismail ordered finalizing urgent water and sanitation projects before the 2016 summer to avoid any problems.
During a meeting Monday with Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Moustafa Madbouly, Ismail said 3.95 billion EGP is needed for upping water stations production capacity through establishing 86 stations across the country.
Some 1.14 billion EGP out of total 3.95 billion EGP was earmarked for the water stations project in the 2015-2016 action plan.
Meanwhile, Madbouly noted that 13.7 billion EGP sanitation projects are being set up in about 869 villages to serve 8 million people.
He added that the social housing project meant to set up one billion housing units in various Egyptian governorates is in the pipeline.
About 150 billion EGP is allocated for the social housing project, he said.
